As usual I have not had a lot of time to post, so I’ll run through what happened this week.
On Tuesday, nothing major happened except for the first track practice. I’ve been awaiting this for a couple months now so I was finally able to unleash that momentum in front of the coaches. We did some easy distance running, and I ran for about 35 minutes with a friend. Afterwords we just worked our upper body in the weight room.
Wednesday, we had the first math test of this semester and overall I did pretty well. I ended up getting 18/20 on it and, this was good when compared to my first math test last quarter.
By now my schedule had become routine and I didn’t have to glance at the sheet anymore. After school, we had track practice and it was workout day. We did about 15 mins of abs, then we ran for about 40 mins, and ended the day with some lower body lifting. I finally got the chance to run a 400 or something close to a 400 as we ran 5 530’s on a sidewalk.
Thursday, school was pretty boring. Track practice was great as usual, we did some stretches and then went for a distance run. My friend Charley and I wanted to go a little longer so we ended up going for about 55 minutes. I felt really good afterwords and the coach was pretty surprised that I could go for that long.
Since I didn’t have a lot of homework I decided to go to the Bulls game vs. the Charlotte Bobcats. My church had gotten the tickets a little while back, and I had originally said that I couldn’t go because I was assuming that I would have a lot of homework. The game was great, the Bulls won 101 to 93 and I won a big mac.
Friday, we had track practice at 6 AM in the morning and amazingly enough I was actually able to get up and go for practice. Although I was a little late (6:05) the coach was really cool about it. It was really cold, and I didn’t exactly bring a lot to wear so I decided to just go an easy 30 minutes. After that we ran 10 Accelerators on a 150 M track indoors, these felt amazing and the coach kept saying, go slower.
Later in the day I had the first History test of the semester and thankfully enough I can say that I don’t need to study for History this semester. Mrs. Mercier’s tests are way easier than what I’m used to with Bedore. I also had a math test but that was easy enough.
Today, got up pretty late like every other teenager on a Saturday and I managed to do nothing until about 1. Finally, I got some warm clothes on and went for a run, I went medium pace instead of the slow pace we go on the distance runs, still I was able to keep this pace for 50 mins. I did have the occasional break because of traffic lights.
