Life’s been extremely busy lately and I haven’t had time for anything. Everything has been winding down recently and the homework load has been too much to handle. Quick recap below.
For the last couple weeks I’ve been working on my semester project for EPOC and I’m almost finished with it. This week I turn in the binder and give my presentation on it. Currently the binder is 93 pages
, and every page has been individually written and designed by me. I’ve tried some print design tips I learned in some of my photoshop classes and I’ve been using CMYK color a little bit. Personally, I think my project rocks, I doubt there is anyone in the class who would have a more professionally designed project than mine. I’ll be posting PDF’s of the project for a couple of my interviewees and I’ll let everyone else see them as well. ![]()
Like school, track been winding down as well, the seasons been a lot of fun and I’ve achieved a lot more than I thought were possible. Truth be told, I wasn’t a great runner when I ran for my Junior High, sure I ran in most of the meets and I made the cuts, but my form was terrible and I never really improved every season. I’ve improved more as a person this season than any other time in my life. Running has become more of a lifestyle for me I’ve given up junk food, pop, and everytime I do something there is a voice in my head that says, “Will this be good for your running?”
Hopefully, I can improve a lot this summer and be a worthy asset to the team next year.
Even with 3 weeks to go till the end of the summer I’ve got some major plans set. I’ll be doing a Cross Country camp every day from 7 to 8:30 AM and this will really help me make the most of the summer. I’m also planning to sign up for some ACT and SAT classes as I’ve got 2 years to really nail those down, and with the new formats its getting harder. I also want to earn some money so that I can invest in a camera, my exploration of the medium through my Semester Project has taught me to really like photography again. A major road block right now is that I really don’t have a lot of control over my image, I want to purchase a Canon Rebel this summer so that I can really take pictures.
I plan on designing this summer almost full time, maybe even doing some tech support and general training. I’ll be offering rewards for anyone who gets me in contact with a successful client, I’m thinking rewards as high as 5%. So if you know someone that is serious about getting something designed, let them know about them and point them towards 2-cubed.
Hopefully, I can begin daily updates soon.

I suppose we both have one thing in common for this summer, prepare for ACT’s/SAT’s. Though I don’t *think* I will be doing classes, maybe more so doing some books and that sort.
I’ve talked to a few of my friends who’ve done classes and they say that it really helps. Plus, if I’m signed up for a class I’ll be forced to do it, if I had a book I’d keep putting it off.
Yeah - that’s the only thing classes have going for them. Practice test problems help the most. All my $400 class last summer did was…eh, use a book.
An outdated one at that.
I thought, “you dirty bastards.”
Better $400 a class than $400 a credit if your screw up the tests.
Plus, I doubt they will change the SAT’s and ACT’s for a while, they changed both of them this year.
How so true. I have a *serious* problem when it comes to procastination, so I’ll probably end up putting away the book. I really should go sign up for a class.
I usually don’t have a problem during the week, its during weekends and the summer I have problems with not doing anything.
This summer I’ll be forced to do a lot, because I’ll have to get up at 6:45, to go to Cross Country practice at 7:00.
Ouch, I don’t know that I could take waking up early during summer. How long are they (practices).
Its not too bad, 7:00 to 8:30.
The coaches say that it will make your summer a lot more productive, if I didn’t have practice I’d get up around 1:00 and then wait around for dinner and then repeat the cycle.

Yes, I was quite alarmed by the scary cloaked figure that has become your logo.
How do you do it all Chenu, how do you stay so motivated to get everything done?
I have tried really hard to focus so much on school, this year has been nothing but terrible for me and I think next year I am going to really crack down on my bad habits like procrastinating my work and stuff. I want my senior year to be all good grades.

KR : My motivation is having the ability in the future to live a better life than what I live now. You’ve got to pick a goal and work towards it. For long term goals, I find it helpful to split them into a couple short term goals. For example a short term goal is to get A’s this year while a corresponding long term goal is to pass out with A’s.
